Comprehensive Safety Policies

Our safety policies are designed to protect our personnel, clients, and the environment while ensuring operational excellence.

General Safety

Slickline Operations with Wellhead Pressure require operations and well maintained equipment. A Slickline job under pressure, especially with the presence of gas, needs careful preparation and equipment adapted to the job to be performed.

High-pressure jobs require also close co-operation between the rig crew and Additional Oilfield Services Limited Personnel. A perfect understanding of all operational steps, possible hazards and any emergency shut-in procedures is a pre-requisite for all pressure jobs and should be discussed on the spot with the client before hand.

Personnel Safety

Always wear your safety equipment when working on Pressure Control Equipment (boots, hard hat, overall, gloves, goggles). Also, any operation on the wellhead and associated equipment (disconnection, actuation of BOP or valve. etc) must be watched by an operator or someone from the rig crew, ready for emergency action. Make sure that nobody is standing downwind. Crew working in isolated locations must always carry a FIRST AID KIT.

Safe Procedures

Well Site

NO SMOKING is allowed on or near the well site.
Clear the way to the X-Mass tree or wellhead. Handling heavy equipment can be hazardous if the ground is littered with loose boards, scans of oil field equipment, mud filled holes.
DO NOT JUMP FROM PLATFORM, use the stairs and ladders.
When working above water, wear your LIFE JACKET.
Take care where you place your feet when climbing the X-Mass tree.
Do not grasp any part of the tree, which is not firmly secured. (Valve handles, …etc.)
Should night be foreseen, take the appropriate steps to ensure PROPER LIGHTING.

Tools

Keep all hammers, Chisels, punches, etc in perfect condition.
Do not use a steel sledge hammer to tighten connections (A BRASS HAMMER is a must).

Slickline

When working in H2S, use the proper cable and INHIBIT the wire (kontol, No rust) by means of a liquid chamber.
When cutting on surface (rig down) make sure that neither end can fly out.
Keep track of the number of the hours the wire has worked. CHANGE IT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. Check it frequently for defects or corrosion, between each job, cut and remove 10ft of wire. Do this more frequently during fishing jobs requiring heavy jarring.
When leaving the slick line string in hole (pressure surveys) put RAGS on the wire between wellhead and winch to prevent people and vehicle from hitting the wire.
Make sure before running in the well that there is enough wire on the drum to reach the total depth.
